Elyse
Cherry, President: Ms. Cherry joined Boston Community Venture Fund
(BCVF) as its President in 1997 and was also appointed as the CEO of its parent
company, Boston Community Capital in 2000. Prior to joining BCVF, she served
as CEO of Earthwide Products Corporation, an investment fund targeting environmental
businesses. Elyse is a former partner of the Boston law firm of Hale and Dorr,
where her practice focused on large commercial real estate transactions, the
development of affordable housing and the preservation of open space. She
was also Vice President of SRB Corporation, a member of the Plymouth Rock
family of insurance and insurance service companies, and, in 1975, she served
as a VISTA volunteer at the East Tennessee Community Design Center in Knoxville,
Tennessee. Elyse serves as Vice Chair of the National Community
Capital Association. She is a former director of the Community Development Venture Capital Alliance.
She serves on the Board of Directors of a number of our portfolio companies
including Zipcar, SelecTech, TracRac, and Springboard Technology. Elyse is
a graduate of Wellesley College and the Northeastern University School of
Law.
